Ars Electronica Festival Podcast 2023-2024
In 2023 and 2024, Ars Electronica and Ö1 produced a podcast to go along with the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz. It featured conversations with international festival guests—artists, researchers, developers, activists, and entrepreneurs—about their work, ideas, and encounters with new technologies.
The podcast has since evolved into a year-round format: Art Is Not a Thing, the Ars Electronica podcast exploring art, technology, and society beyond the festival context.

Who Owns the Truth? #2 (EN): Art in the Lab
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In line with the long-standing tradition of Ars Electronica to bring together art and science, 'Art as Laboratory' offers a multidimensional exploration of the concept of truth. The convergence of art, journalism, and science provides a broad spectrum for investigating our world and the truths it holds. Research plays a crucial role in revealing truths about the world. At the same time, awareness of the potential fallibility and misuse of science is essential, particularly regarding the spread of misinformation masquerading as truths. Artistic practices that depict, challenge, and reinterpret truth not only raise the question of whether truth can be subjective but also explore to what extent art serves as a tool for discovering and questioning 'truth'.
